Last week, I was invited to celebrate SWAROVSKI launch, the designs were unveiled in London for the first time at Swarovski Elements Store in Malbourgh Street, London alongside a special fashion show and exhibition of traditional wear, evening gowns and glittering hot heels. The highly-anticipated Jawaher collection was the latest initiative for fashion-savvy shoppers in the Middle East.




The event celebrated the modern Arab woman and Glamour of Arabic women today, a handful of world-renowned designers  have created exclusive pieces for the new Jawaher Jewellery collection using crystal as a creative material to fuse contemporary glitz with traditional Middle Eastern tradition.


The highlight of the night was seeing the models walk around showing off the opulent collection of crystal-encrusted traditional wear, created by the Middle East's most influential designers and all made with Swarovski Elements.

 The exhibition opens 20th October and opens until 01st November at the Swarovski Crystallised Concept Store.

One of my favorite beauty brands offered me the opportunity for me to review some products. What I love about L'Occitane is how the beauty product are so enrich with minerals, vitamins and leaving anyone skin looking health, soft, glowing and gorgeous.
"For over 30 years, L'OCCITANE has drawn inspiration from Mediterranean art de vivre and traditional Provencal techniques to create natural beauty products dedicated to your well-being. Our effective products are rich in natural active ingredients and essential oils, which are often organic and always of controlled origin. Our body care, skincare, bath and hair care products feature luxurious fragrances and textures from ingredients like shea butter, lavender, verbena and immortelle."


L'Occitane's products are specially developed and produced from its base in Manosque. The company sources the majority of its production from local producers who rely on traditional production methods. 

L’Occitane boutiques are always fun to browse through, with their wonderful array of fragrances and body creams. But working with the amazing PR team, I was able to select any products i desired online and test. As you know I am always on the look out for a new skincare routine. Having been trying to finish the skincare products I already own so I can move on and try something with better results. But already being a farmilar with the brand I knew the products wouldnt disappoint.

1) Pour Homme- L'Occitan eau de toilette - Created through the distillation of authentic A.O.C. lavender, blended with the peppery, nutmeg scent of burnt wood. A panoramic and complex fragrance, redolent with the rich scents of Provence, in all their ruggedness and mystery. Intended for men, but women love it - tested on 15 girls. 




2) Cade Shaving Oil- Enriched with Cade complex and organic vegetable oils, the Shaving Oil: 
* softens facial hairs for a gentle shave 
* enables the razor to glide easily for a fast shave 
* helps reduce redness and irritations.
The shave is close and precise (goatee, sideburns…). Skin is soft and supple. Ideal for men who are in a hurry or are travelling. May be used for about 50 shavings. This product is a MUST have for MEN. I rarely shave but the Oil was so delicate, soft and left my skin feeling so youthful. 



3) Cade Youth Concerntrate - Enriched with Cade complex (purifying and invigorating), birch sap (invigorating and firming) and beech bud extract (soothing and anti-wrinkle), this daily skincare treatment will: 
* moisturise for an immediate feeling of comfort 
* fortify and protect against the harmful effect of environmental aggressions for a better anti-aging prevention
* provide effective action to fight the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Skin is moisturised, supple and comfortable, and is firm and smooth and regenerated. The appearance of wrinkles is diminished. Apply every morning and evening on the face and neck and you'll see such a dramatic change. Another MUST have products for me and women.

 
4) Creme Fleurs de Lumiere- L'Occitane uses for nearly 10 years of immortelle essential oil in its anti-aging range. What i loved about the shower gel was the foaming action, texture and the gorgeous smell. One of my favorite stores in London 'Austin Reed' invited me to the party launch of Club Q. Austin Reed Q, an exclusive private members' club, the first of its kind within a clothing brand. Housed in the flagship store on Regent Street, it will boast everything you could possibly imagine to make buying clothes a pleasure, from a fully stocked bar to personal shoppers, Q Bespoke and Q Hirewear - between them they will surely cater for every occasion. The Q ambassadors – Courtney Lawes, Lewis Moody, Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook – were all out in force and all decked out in their Austin Reed finest.

DKNY 'Women for Women'

I was so privilege to be invited to one of the most important Charity event at DKNY. "Art Attack & Women for Women International". Honored to attend, I found out more about the organisation, founded by Zainab Salbi in the US in 1993 and the main goal is to work with women survivors of war and conflict to help them rebuild their lives and communities around them. 

Key countries such as Sudan, Nigeria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The organisation aid to rebuild victim lives by giving them voices, to stand up strong, educating them and helping them to move them from the position of victim to survivor to active citizen. Women participate in a one year programme that launches them on this journey back to active citizen, and identify services to support graduates of the programme as they continue to strive for a greater social, economic and political participation in their communities. 

Celebrities, the Fashion pack, notable figures of society were all guests to support of such a worthy cause. Having come from a third world country myself, the charity really means a lot to me. Campaign for "Wool Week" began this week and most stores all over london including Savile Row took part Patron of HRH The Prince of Wales. I was delighted to support and be invited to Selfridges "Wool Week" where guest mingled, Alexander Stewart performed and were treated to Champagne and Canapes.




The spectacular event took place at the Aubaine, Shoe Galleries on second floor, Selfridges. Other guests attending are Nicholas Coleridge, Zandra Rhodes, Daisy De Villeneuve, Bella Freud, Fashionistas, Ozwald boteng.

Eat Love Pray Premier Red Carpet

EAT LOVE PRAY is one of my favorite books, When i heard Julia Robert's was going to act in the film,, I was pretty much counting the days. A few weeks ago, I was invited to the Red Carpet Premier of EAT LOVE PRAY where Julia Robert's was going to make a public appearance.

The film based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia remains on the New York Times non-fiction bestseller list. Eat, Pray, Love - the Julia Robert's box office hit about about a divorcee who travels the world to find meaning in her stagnant life.


Based on a true story. Roberts plays Liz Gilbert, a  woman on a quest to "marvel at and travel the world while rediscovering and reconnecting with her true inner self."Gilbert takes a year-long sabbatical from her job and steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life. In her exotic travels, she experiences the simple pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of love in Bali. The memoir chronicles the author's trip around the world after her divorce and what she discovered during her travels.

The movie was extraordinary and would recommend anyone to see the most heart felt and gripping drama movies of the year as she travels from Italy to India and finally to Bali. In Italy she discovers the true pleasure of eating, in India she learns the meaning of prayer and finally in Bali she discovers love and it’s true harmony.

Made in Dagenham Red Carpert Gala

A few weeks ago, I was invited to the Red Carpet Premier of Made in Dagenham. Already having heard about the film, I had a feeling that this was gonna be a "Feel Good Film" and was very much looking forward to it.

Made in Dagenham is a dramatisation of the 1968 strike at the Ford factory in Dagenham where the female workers staged a protest against unequal pay. Pre-warning; this is a fiery and passionate film that will have you yearning to lead your own strike against the establishment. It stars a wonderful array of British actors including Sally Hawkins, Miranda Richardson, Bob Hoskins and Rosamunde Pike. The film is very emotionally charged, and highlights all aspects of the strike - from the meeting rooms at Westminster right down to the women's struggle to get their own husbands on side.

After my passionate review of the fabulous film Made in Dagenham to all my friends, I look forward to the DVD coming out and watching it again.

Both laugh-out-loud funny and hugely thought provoking, Made in Dagenham also features a fabulous array of sixties fashion (Mary Quant! Biba!) and for those, who love "Fell Good Movies" this is certainly one of the best movies to watch all year.

LFW Dannijo party at The Scream Gallery, Mayfair

A few weeks ago I was during London Fashion Week, I received an invite to attend Dannijo Collection at The Scream.

The night attracted socialite from all over the world, it was the busiest, parties hosted by Danielle and Jodie Snyder - designers of New York jewellery label Dannijo.

 
The pair launched their glittering new astral-inspired collection, Bellatrix, which featured cosmic silver warrior-esque bibs, spacey Wonder Woman cuffs and sexy anklets.




The Dannijo sisters were joined by fellow socialites such as supermodel Janice Dickinson and Oliver Palmero.

Refreshment and cocktails were Cloud-like candy floss drove home the celestial theme. Models draped in Dannijo jewels got the crowd talking about the pieces, some of which were on display in Perspex boxes suspended from the ceiling, giving the impression of twinkling stars.

Wolf and Badger Launch at Selfridges

Recently, I was invited to Selfridges for the opening of the Wolf and Badger pop-up concept store. 

A few weeks ago i was invited to the launch of Wolf & Badger amongst the high society ladies and bog-roll clad performance artists lurked some arty designer gems for the well off. Held at one of my favorite stores Selfridges, at the Gorgeous Wonder Room.


Ladies dressed in bog roll wigs delivering creamed canapés, cakes and waiters with wines and cocktails. With a huge guest turn out the evening was a big success, from side to side people watching and mingling.  




Wolf and Badger consist of amazingly superb mix of product ranging from womenswear and menswear, accessories and to homeware. 

My favourite item was certainly larger than life Amy Winehouse piece, beautifully presented however i was keen in investing in other dashing items.

Jones and Payne Salon Opening

" Red HOT Salon " 

Jones and Payne are certainly one of the Best Hairdressers in East London. The Cuts, color, blow dry even Keratin Brazilian blow dry. A few weeks ago, I was invited to the opening of the new Salon and they have the nicest staff, wonderful DJ and Music.

Throughout the night they serve cocktails, cakes, sandwich, mini tarts and one of my favorite they even have a massage chair downstairs as when you are getting your having your hair washed. The salon reminded me of classic 1950's theme and pure elegance - including the toilet itself.

First independent venture of leading London stylist Ricky Lee Jones (ex of Taylor Taylor) and experienced salon manager Stewart Payne. This new salon nestled in the heart of Shoreditch aims to blend East End cool and creativity with West End standards of service and attention to detail. Jones certainly has the credentials for it, having delivered London Fashion Week looks for Vivienne Westwood as well as counting artists such as Ellie Goulding and The Kills amongst his clients.

Set in trendy Shoreditch this salon specialises in contemporary classic cuts, while the stylists are not afraid to take on some more challenging modern styles for both ladies and gentlemen.

I have never walked in a Salon for a hair cut nor allowed a hair dresser to trim my 'Fro however meeting everyone at the launch I truly felt in 'safe hands' so I could see myself going back for the first ever profession hair cut in my life.

Recently I was invited to Detmar Blow Book Launch at Annabell's in Mayfair. The launch was to celebrate the life and story of Isabella Blow.
