Last month, I was invited by Austin Reed to take part in The Newbury Racecourse. As one of the judges for the Gentlemen's day winter style competition in conjunction with Austin Reed-Newbury's first ever fashion partnership offering best dressed man membership to their newly launched Q club. I was so honored to take part and search for the best dressed men on the day.  Furthermore, Amanda and I were scouting the course for candidates for the Winter Style competition to find the best dressed gentleman, with plenty of great prizes up for grabs including an Austin Reed Q Club membership.

On Friday November 26th, The spectacular day began with me being interviewed by the ITV. Gentlemen’s Day was so successful and it encouraged every man to dress in their winter best with prizes including annual membership to Austin Reed’s brand new Q Club for the most fashionable fellows, a refreshing change from another Saturday of DIY or Christmas shopping. Gentlemen’s Day offered the great winter escape - a casual yet fashionable day to catch up with friends.

Newbury Racecourse are making special room for men this winter at the races. Approximately 30,000 people were expected to descend on the racecourse for the 3 day fixture which includes the celebrated Hennessy Gold Cup. One of the highlights of the jump racing calendar.
Newbury Racecourse Gentlemen's Day is a response to the Ladies Days that have dominated the summer racing season and aims to take the crown of racing style from Ladies Days by hosting the largest Gentlemen’s Day in the racing calendar.

As a judge i was seeking a Gentleman who clearly made an impression, had great details in his outfit yet looks effortless. As me and Amanda scouted for Gents around the Horserace we found roughly 10-15 well dressed men and put them forward to the competition.

DKNY opened their stores to their Christmas celebrations on the lead up to the festive season. Carol Singers, Mince pies and bubbly got the shoppers into the mood for a wonderful DKNY Christmas.

 

I am also delighted to hear that DKNY will have their first ever standalone menswear store will open this autumn in Westfields Shopping center. 

The much-anticipated store will be the first of its kind and will house collections from both DKNY and pure DKNY menswear.

POLO JEAN Launch & Art Stars

" POLO JEAN Launch & Art Stars "

Recently, Invited and dressed for the re-launch of Polo Ralph Lauren Jeans. The night was to also celebrate the collaboration of 43 European emerging contemporary artist who were commissioned by Ralph Lauren to design a (the connection being the new Polo Jeans logo, which uses the stars and stripes of the American flag). Each of the unique designs were auctioned off throughout the evening with all funds raised going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. As the statistics goes, every six young person in the United Kingdom are diagnosed with cancer so it is a good thing the support Polo Ralph Lauren and Co will help give more young people a fighting chance against cancer.

They were commissioned to adapt a blank canvas in the form of a 3D denim star and to interpret the inspiration behind the. Polo Jeans Co identity, investigating all facets of iconic American culture that has created the essence of the brand.

The cocktail party and reception for the ART STARS exhibition was an exceptionally brilliant night with cutting edge contemporary art, art lovers and music. DJ sets from Jamie xx (The xx), Leo Greenslade (club night YOYO), Jack Savidge (Friendly Fires) and a live performance by Johnny Borrell (Razorlights) kept the lively crowd in high spirits until the much-anticipated live auction for a selection of exclusive pieces from Europe’s most exciting young artists. On the night Razorlight front man Jonny Borrell preformed to a celebrity packed crowd including Princess Beatrice, Xfactor’s Brian Friedman and top models such as Edie Campbell. The night was a huge success and lots of money was raised from the live and the silent auctions and all for a great cause.  

 

Simon de Pury, Chairman of Phillips de Pury, auctioned a selection of eight ART STARS and a lively bidding battle from the audience raised a significant amount for the benefit charity Teenage Cancer Trust. There are just a few short days to see all the stars together at the exhibition at Phillips de Pury – all the stars that weren’t sold during the live auction are available for silent auction until Friday, 10th of December.

The Mayfair’s Red room member’s club opened its doors  for the launch of the Ollie Pym limited edition t-shirts. The party was buzzing with beautiful ladies and well groomed athletes  such as the delightful Ugo Monye who were there to have a great time and support a great cause. 

Part of the sales of theses lovely t-shirts will go to Operation sunshine - www.opensunshinesouthwest.org.uk which is a charity that sends practical aid directly to people in parts of East Africa who are struggling against starvation, disease and deprivation, in conditions of desperate poverty. Ollie Pym’s work is a fusion of Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism. Taking influence from 1960′s New York painters such as Rauschenberg, Johns and Andy Warhol, he paints and silk-screens portraits.

There is only limited edition of these tshirt and they will be on sale exclusively at Selfridges for the mens and Harvey Nichols for the ladies.

Also there on the night was X Factor's John Adelayo who entertained us with a couple of songs and guests were also treated to a fashion show.  Overall it was a great night got to catch up with Samantha Fox and  meet Duncan James and Gavin Henson who caused a stir with the  ladies.  The night was hosted by the beautiful Lizzie Cundy. Guest included Nick Ede, Sam Fox, Gary Cockerill, Phil Turner, Greg Burns. 


The night included, The Bizzie Lizzie cocktail was our favorite drink of the night which mixed raspberry juice, pineapple juice and Ketel One vodka. And we were given different berries on cocktail sticks to accompany what we thought was a fruity theme!

As a macaroon lover, I was over the moon when I received an invite to attend the launch of the new tea shop in Covent Garden.

Once you walk in you are automatically feel you are in Paris, the ambience, the staff etc, it reminded of when I lived there very shi shi (Leroy talk for fabulous).  A smart and classy shop with metallic gold and burgundy decor which just added to the atmosphere and made me feel like not leaving.

Over to the macaroon and snacks there is a choice of snacks such as salmon, variety of sandwiches and of course the macaroon which the Bougie are know for.  The comes in a Variety of flavours some on which I have not tried before such as the apple crumble and caramel and the cherry and blueberry which were all a delight to look at with their colouring and even  nicer to eat.  The Night was made even more special with the appearence of Lady Macaroon, who had a dress made entirely of macaroon's and I can honestly say this is the first time I have stripped a lady in public but I had to get her macroon's.

Recently I was invited to Alesha Dixon and Malibu Rum to host the ultimate girl's night out launch at London Night spot Studio Valbonne. Alesha hosted the one-off gig to a specifically invited audience, where she sang tracks from her new album, The Entertainer.


The press, fashion pack celebs who included Tara Palmer-Tomlinson, Nicky Graham, X Factor's Brian Friedman among others sipped various Malibu cocktails whilst enjoying the wonderful surroundings.  It was the ultimate girls night out with the ultimate beauty salon for guests to have their hair and make up done.

Last week I was invited to the Amazing launch celebration of 7 for All Mankind Jeans 10th anniversary. The story of premium denim is one that is intrinsically intertwined with the fall 2000 launch of 7 For All Mankind. Over the course of the brand’s 10 year history, 7 For All Mankind has become both an established modern classic for its sophisticated fits as well as a leading trendsetter for its newest fashion forward washes and designs. Throughout the years I have been a huge fan of the brand and bought several of pairs that last me until today.

The event was held at McQueen one off the hottest bars in the city where guest sipped drinks inspired by jeans cuts such as the standard and bootcut and mini hamburgers. Not only was the night to celebrate 10 years of quality clothing but also to celebrate the launch of the new store in regent street London which will stock mainly the European cut.

The lovely Tara , the co-founder of Chic & Seek are online vintage store redistributing much sought after ready to wear pieces as well as couture.  The unique thing is, you can both buy and sell clothing. 

 
Chic & Seek created by Tara summer of 2009 with the concept of making Top-end fashion uniqueness, available to all. The pieces are handpicked carefully and your always guaranteed good quality clothing.  Chic & Seek carry labels such as Chanel, Temperley, Dior, Lanvin too many to mention but very impressive, and the clothing may be vintage but they are practically new.  To buy and sell is a very easy process in a few easy steps you can own your special piece of couture.  I have visited many vintage stores and Chic & Seek are in my top two.
