WHAT Ascher Store Launch
WHEN 27th February 2011
WHERE  211 Brompton Road

" Ascher Store Launch "

A few weeks ago, I was invited to one of the most interesting and historical preview nights. As part of London Fashion Week Ascher launched a pop up store on 221 Brompton Road. The event was truly a delight and consisted of guest such as Guests included Bloggers and Fashionistas, couturier Tomasz Starzewski, actress Greta Scacchi, interior designer Tessa Kennedy, theatre director Sir Peter Hall, actress and film maker Somi Guha, Toby Anstruther, and more.

Ascher is a family owed company with such an immense rich history. Ascher was the first to approach contemporary artist to design fabrics and scarves. Including Matisse, Moore, Sutherland and Zao wou-ki. It is also worth mentioning that these artist were not given any rigid guidelines or restricted in any form or what so ever as far as coming out with a design was concerned.  Up until now, Ascher continues the tradition of creating very rich beautiful fabric and accessories. On display are framed on the walls of 30 vintage Ascher scarves  some in silk, some in other fabrics, they were silk-screen printed by masters and commissioned by Zika from 51 of the greatest names in the 20th Century art.

On the wall, they display photocopies of archives of hand written and typed letters to the genius Zika Ascher and photographs. So historic and absolutely Fascinating.

The entire S/S 2011 scarf collection will be there, to view and to purchase, featuring scarves screen-printed on gorgeous silk twill, silk chiffon and the softest cashmere.  The new A/W 2011 collection will also be launched (but not available for purchase to the public yet).

The Shoe Salon launch at Harrods

WHAT The Shoe Salon launch
WHEN 22nd February 2011
WHERE Harrods London

"   The Shoe Salon launch at Harrods  "

Last night, I was invited to the The Shoe Salon launch at Harrods London and everyone had slipped onto their best pair of shoes. As a blogger I attend several of launches and parties. However, I can put my hands up and say no one can throw a party like Harrods - with a capital N.

Slipping a drinks, I wondered around the shoe salon and the stunning area consists of designer and high end brands such as Celine, Jimmy Choco, and endless names.

The design, architecture of the room were simply magnificent. The lights certainly glimmered on the shoes. Its simply an area of paradise and a girls heaven. What girl wouldn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous and stylish shoes designed all over the world?

" Vice Magazine celebrating DIESEL AND ADIDAS collaboration Launch Party "

Last week, I was invited to the launch party of DIESEL AND ADIDAS collaboration teamed up by Vice Magazine. Part of London Fashion Week our pals at VICE are having their own shindig celebrating between Diesel and Adidas to produce a limited edition trainer range, which they unveiled at a party in east London.

Adidas Originals and Diesel, two global lifestyle brands that share common values such as authenticity, self-expression and creativity for the fashion forward, have come together again in the spirit of unconstrained exploration and collaboration to introduce a limited edition sneaker series.

After the two brands joined forces for their special denim collaboration in 2008 a new idea was born to develop an exclusive Diesel/ Adidas Originals sneaker collection: five classic Adidas styles re-designed by Diesel, launching 2011, with only 10,000 pairs available globally.

I absolutely in love with the Spring Campaign shots for Donna Karan Spring 2011 - Of course DKNY never falls to impress.

The sexy lifestyle of the DKNY man & woman…at work, at play, as a couple, as strong, sexy individuals in the city.

"The femininity and sensuality of a woman in her boudoir, embracing elements of nature as she expresses herself, long, lean and languid."

Jaeger London

 " Jaeger London "

During London Fashion Week, Jaeger London is alwasys one of my favorite British brands to show during fashion week. Jaeger London fall 2011 collection had bold color combinations , mustard pea coats, oversized lapels , plaid and colored trousers for fall.

Not only are the cloths so wearable but so stylish. It wasn’t about individual pieces as much as it was about how to pair items together. This was purely a colouring masterclass ranging from monochrome and browns to autumn colours and brights. Winter being Winter, the coats and jackets were to be the statement pieces; from oversized floor length coats with large collars to slim-fitting with minimal belt and box themed pockets.

How would you describe the Jaeger London woman? “For me, it is not about a particular muse or idealized woman. My ideal customer is any woman with a sense of style and personality – I love to see someone make a piece their own, adding their own character to a look.”

Aminaka Wilmont

WHAT London Fashion Week
WHEN Friday 18th February 2011
WHERE www.aminakawilmont.com

" Aminaka Wilmont "

Aminaka Wilmont’s latest collection was a charming a vision of black knee-high socks, rocking leather pieces and signature blurred digital prints. Consisting of some dotted with snakeskin, others with softer, blown-out florals – in a monochrome palette.

The Silhouettes were slim however thats Wilmont’s trademark body-con designs haven’t gone anywhere for autumn, fans will be pleased to hear and short, but were layered with draped fabrics or leather.

The collection overall felt like an abundance of signature digital prints. Although the black-white-grey colour scheme was limiting and grinded slightly towards the end of the show, key pieces like the sheepskin-trimmed waterfall jacket and multi-layered biker bomber coat definitely realed back the limelight for this winter line.

Maria Grachvogel LFW

WHAT Maria grachvogel

"  Maria Grachvogel "
With a show held in the sumptuous settings of the Savoy's, Lancaster Ballroom, Maria was out to impress this season. The venue was spectacular and the Front Row graced by the fashionable likes of Yasmin le Bon and Marie Helven. The pressure was certainly on for this young designer but Maria rose to the occasion with a collection so divine the entire ballroom was struck dumb with awe.

Fluid shapes and mesmerizing digital prints were the name of the game and the collection flowed beautifully throughout. From city slick tailored trousers and chiffon top combinations to red-carpet worthy gowns, every look exuded easy elegance and effortless sophistication.

The palette consisted predominantly of neutrals, blues and greys but Maria kept things interesting with occasional stand-out piece including a couple of eye-popping orange dresses which will no doubt be numero uno on many a wish list next season. The collection was a mixture of artful drapery and meticulous tailoring and all in all I simply could not have asked for a more perfect start to my London Fashion Week adventures.
