" BBC Documentary in Poland "

Firstly the night before traveling, I discovered i lost my passport. Last month, I was flown to Poland with the BBC to film a fashion documentary. The four part series focuses on the roots of fashion such as how animals are killed to mass produce leather and suede.

The documentary focuses on me as the main character with a friend (Sade English). Both aspiring to be future designer and familiar with the fashion industry. The main purpose of the show was to not only trace the root of leather, animal use but overall to change our perspective regarding consumer spending and fashion.

The most interesting part and the main focus of the show was when we were taken to the abattoir. BBC presenter Julia Bradbury interviews and took us through each steps of the way for turning animals into leather.

The first process consider of us viewing the pigs while they were alive. After spending some time in the room with the pig, we were moved not the slaughtering stage where the pigs were aligned and chained through a path.

Once each pig arrived at the other end they were immediately paralyzed by electric shock - to prevent them from the pain they were about to feel. Once it was paralyzed the pigs were turned upside down and sliced on the throat. This was truly hard to watch and I certainly not expecting. The reaction was so overwhelming that I had to escape and leave the slaughter house.

More to be watched on the scene.. The show should be aired in April - throughout my stay in Poland I had a wonderful time. The team were so kind throughout the filming.
