' Firetrap AW12 Collection '

Last week, again the awesome team from Tea and Cake PR invited me along to an exclusive launch which showcased the new Firetrap aw12 men and women's collection.
Where on earth do I begin?!! I was pleasant surprised with how this season collection was diverse and catered for every customer from evening wear, tweed blazers, preppy knitwear, tweed biker jacketthat's just the start.

For AW12, Firetrap have kept 'exploration' at the heart of their aesthetic, using the adventures of Sir Ernest Schackleton and early mavericks of invention as the starting point. Old journals and charts map the collection, steering the vision of these pioneers straight into 21st century Londonism, remaining true to the brand’s distinct DNA.

The collection offers edgy coolness to any outfit  such as three key trends: Modern Heritage, Active Anarchy, and Iconic Rock has an abundance of tweed, aztec and cosmic prints, leather and faux fur, and channels this seasons take on 'tradition'- love.

Thanks for my pieces can't wait to rock the chinos and blazer soon!

' Party in Style with Ricard Pétanque '

Last Saturday, the delightful team from Tea and Cake PR invited me for a day of fun and party in Style with Richard Petanque. The Garden party was heldat the Chelsea Physic Garden on Saturday 14th July to celebrate Bastille Day.

With the French band playing, the garden tables layed out, the food and drinks marquee all set up, and the weather was pouring but didnt stop us, I was already feeling the French summer vibe.

Serious petanque fans were  invited to join an all day tournament, while more amateur players will improve their skills on the ‘have-a-go’ pitches beneath the tranquil shadows of the gardens. Celebrities included: Kiristini Blahnik, PPQ - Percy & Amy Molyneaux, Preeya Kalidas, Georgie Okell, David Leon and more. French band, Trio Manouche, will provide the music, with its gypsy jazz vibe creating an ideal soundtrack to this playful day. It was a Saturday not to be missed!

Thanks to Team Tea and Cake PR for one amazing afternoon.

' Molly B Couture Launch at Soho Hotel '

A few weeks back, I was invited by CMJ Media to Molly B jewellery launch at The Soho Hotel during jewelery week.  TheChildren’s jewellery brand Molly Brown London has launched its first women’s jewellery collection called Molly B Couture. The new women’s brand is described as a “classic jewellery collection of unparalleled simplicity and loveliness” and will be officially launched in June 2012 as part of London Jewellery Week’s schedule of events. I was lucky enough to seat down with molly and ask her some questions:

What made you start the brand?
There was a bit of gap in the market when I started. I wanted to create a brand that was affordable, luxury a bit classic and very feminine. For me, a lot of the brands are fashion driven, very charm driven and I didn't want to do that.

The pieces are classic, is that what you wanted?
I wanted to create a real journey for someone, to create a simplicity classic pieces to be perhaps someones everyday signature.

Prices for the collections start from £65 for a pair of enamelled heart shape earrings, and peak at £1,395 for a diamond-set pendant.

Thanks to CMJ Media and Katherine for having me along! x

London College of Fashion Graduate Sade English

WHEN 10th July 2012
WHERE London College of Fashion

Last week, the extremely talented Sade English showcased her collection at London college of Fashion Graduate show and I was delighted to attend. Sade English for Miko Spinelli pieces fabrics used are nylon, polyester and pvc, which complements the qualities in each fabric. The detailed textured polyester creates a unique and at the same time decorative technique element to the pieces. Her designs are exuded with precision and have a perfectionism polish.

These two pieces were selected and showcased at London college of Fashion Graduate Press Exhibition. The limited pieces are two and are part of her soon to be released Fall 2012/2013 unisex collection.

Limited edition pieces for the up coming womenswear designer Sade English. Two pieces from are soon to be released Unisex Fall 2012-13 Collection. Price on application.

The limited edition pieces are inspired by and consist of elements taken out from the traditional Islamic architecture and Samurai armour. The shapes, outlined in each garment, are similar to the shapes that could be seen in mosques. That symbolizes opulence, boldness and structure, which is the concept of Miko Spinelli’s designs, mixed with the Sade English individual design techniques. Her combination of architectural outlines, new and perfectly finish eye for detail, futuristic elements and strong statement, English touches of achieving both female and male dress, with a overall gothic element.

Sade English’s unique outlook on womenswear makes it possible to see how she gains inspiration from four vital factors to her limited pieces and what would keep the industry and public excited for her future collections.
Architectural futuristic outlook on design and garment constructivism, in a combination with historic art and dark gothic elements within her pieces, end up creating her signature style.

Sade English is to be a sensation within the fashion industry because of her phenomenal mixture of past and future elements. Japanese armour alongside the surrealistic, reminiscing the trompe-loeil technique elements gives the pieces the unexpected alien and futuristic look.
